Not directly related the NHL to Seattle Mission but since the WHL is one of the biggest things we have here I thought I would share the CHL Attendance Dashboard I put together. You can filter by league and teams to get a look at how many teams have done over the last 3 years.

This data information is very interesting. It would be great to see the charts just for the Washington based teams plus the Wenatchee Wild of the NAHL. There have been a few Saturday night games where there were sellouts in every market in the state. That would result in 6000 in Seattle, 8500 in Everett, 6000 in Tricity, 10,000 in Spokane and 4000 in Wenatchee. 40,000 fans in the media market place for the Seattle NHL team is half the TV market for an average NHL team.

Excellent insight Drew. I’ve not even thought about pivoting this to think about the TV audience. Because of the location of Kent and Everett, there is still a ton of hockey fans that live in the densest part of the region that aren’t going to that many games. I live in Seattle and my friends and I rarely go to mid-week games because it is tough to get to when you work a 9-5ish job in the city. I will look into something a little more specific to Washington…might throw Portland in there as well since they will be the same TV market.
