RMHC Hockey Challenge 2019

For the last 15 years, this time of year I am part of something that is bigger than hockey. On Saturday, February 23rd, I will be taking the ice to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Western Washington & Alaska in their annual RMHC Hockey Challenge. This has been an important part of my life and my connection to the community since I moved here. What started as a fun way to mix hockey and philanthropy has turned into a passion and commitment to this community-focused organization. The RMHC manages the local Ronald McDonald House which provides a home away from home for families to stay close by their hospitalized child at little to no cost. Families can focus on getting the best care possible for their child without worrying about the cost of where they can afford to stay or where they are going to get their next meal.

This is the one time of year I humbly ask you to consider making a donation to the RMHC. Nothing is ever expected and no amount is too small. I will be matching the sum of all donations up to $3000, so even a $25 gift, turns into $50.

This is a tremendous event that epitomizes the local hockey community. I believe my involvement in the RMHC Hockey Challenge has built my relationship and commitment to the broader hockey community which I believe in so much. This year, the RMHC Hockey Challenge is on Saturday, February 23rd at Accesso ShoWare Arena in Kent. It is a day long event of hockey games between other hockey players in our community also passionate about the RMHC. The day culminates with the Seattle Thunderbirds-Portland Winterhawks game and then the RMHC Hockey Challenge All-Star Game, which is a fun game between local celebrities, former Thunderbirds, some former NHLers, and top donors of the Challenge. A big thanks to the Seattle Thunderbirds for creating this event back in 1998 and continuing to open their doors each and every year to the RMHC Hockey Challenge.
